Titus Matthew | 9 months

A G E: 9 months old!

W E I G H T: 20 pounds 6 ounces! 64th percentile!

L E N G T H: 28 inches! 35th percentile!

S I Z E: He is in size 4 diapers and wears mostly 12M clothes all dependent upon brand and fit.

E Y E S & H A I R: Dark brown!

S L E E P I N G: His bedtime routine is the same, it's been working great since he was about 3 months old. We've pushed the time back just slightly but the routine has been the same for months! Now, everything starts around 7pm. We give him a bath, lotion up, jammies, comb hair and read a book. Then he has his last feeding (a bottle of formula). He falls asleep on his own by about 7:30pm. He sleeps all night until about 7/7:30am. I nurse him when he wakes up and then we start our day!

He naps twice a day. His morning nap is usually around 10am and he sleeps around an hour (sometimes longer if I'm lucky). Then his afternoon nap is around 2/2:30pm and he sleeps an hour and a half.

E A T I N G: I'm still nursing but we are down to one feeding a day. He nurses right when he wakes up in the morning! Then he gets a 6 ounce bottle of formula before each of his naps. And he still gets his bottle before bed, which is consistently an 8 ounce bottle. Titus is eating strictly table foods now. He loves chicken, cucumbers, strawberries, pancakes, rice, cheese, any kind of fruit or veggie and so much more! I usually feed him whatever we're eating or some sort of leftovers!

M I L E S T O N E S:
-Crawling everywhere! He's getting really fast, too!
-Pulls up on furniture and in his crib (only to his knees, not to his feet yet)
-Understands when we tell him, "Don't do that" or "Sit down, please"
-Eating only table foods now. We've pretty much phased out baby food!
-Has SIX teeth total!
-Loves to wave and smile at other kids in public! Adults, not so much, haha.

O U T I N G S: Nothing of note this month, just all the normal things.

F A V  T O Y S/A C T I V I T I E S: He has a few favorite toys! He has a wooden truck that he likes to roll back and forth, still loves his light up drum toy and now he has a play table toy. It also lights up, plays music and sings songs! Right now we're learning the colors in Spanish! He has no idea what's going on yet, but I play a little song and sing it to him.

W O R D S/S O U N D S: Still saying Mama and Dada! Squeals, laughs, babbles, etc.

N I C K N A M E S: Titus boy, Love bug, Titus Almightus, Sweet boy, Titer, Titer Almighter, Buckysmith, Buckwheat Smith, Silly goose bug, Goose

F U N N Y  M O M E N T S: He always hams it up for other kids! We went out to eat twice this past weekend and both times he was making the funniest faces at kids in the restaurant!

Some outtakes....

There's those 6 teethies!

He's been weirdly obsessed with this brush lately! Haha!

Here are some photos from the past month!

We love you, Titus boy! Life with you is so much fun!

A G E: 8 months old...where has the time gone?! Mama can't handle it!

W E I G H T: I haven't checked recently but I'll get an updated weight next month at his 9 month doctor appointment!

L E N G T H: Same ^^

S I Z E: He is still in size 3 diapers, but I just bought a package of 4's so we'll transition to those this week! He wears mostly 9-12M all dependent upon brand and fit but we still have a handful of 6 month things that fit great!

He falls asleep on his own by about 7:30/7:45pm. He sleeps all night until anywhere between 7:30am and 9am. I nurse him when he wakes up and then we start our day!

He naps twice a day. His morning nap is usually around 11am and he sleeps 45 minutes to an hour. Then his afternoon nap is around 2/3pm and he sleeps anywhere between an hour and 2 1/2 hours.

E A T I N G: I'm still nursing about 3 times a day. He eats when he wakes up in the morning and that's his longest feeding from me for the entire day. Otherwise, I nurse him twice more throughout the day, always right before he goes down for a nap. Then he gets formula before bed, which is consistently an 8 ounce bottle. As far as solids, Titus eats anything now! I feed him Stage 3 baby food and anything off of our plates! He loves all food! Now that he has FIVE teeth, he does really well chewing up just about anything. He tried a cheerio and a cheezit for the first time this month!

M I L E S T O N E S:
-Rolls all around
-Sleeps on his tummy
-Scoots backwards and in circles on the floor
-Went to his very first concert! (Sam Hunt at the rodeo in San Antonio)
-Loves peek-a-boo
-Still unsure about strangers
-Plays independently really well
-Still notices when someone leaves the room. If he's playing and he sees me (or daddy) walk away, he fusses.
-Got THREE new teeth, for a total of FIVE! He had the bottom two already, but now he has three on top!
-LOVES to clap!
-Talks in his crib a lot, babbling tons these days
-Went in the swing at the park for the first time
-When he's playing on the floor he rocks some and picks his bum up off the floor! He's not crawling (thankfully, I'm not ready for all that chaos) but he's starting to head that direction!

O U T I N G S: Titus went to the zoo for the first time with his bestie, Addison. He loved the monkeys! And went to his first rodeo and concert!

F A V  T O Y S/A C T I V I T I E S: Bouncing in his jumper, playing with mama and daddy, being outdoors, playing with Addison (he laughs and giggles and squeals every time she's around), strolling around the park/mall/stores/etc.

W O R D S/S O U N D S: Lots and lots of sounds! Giggles, high pitched squeals, screams... He now says Mama, Dada, whispers sounds and babbles all the time!

N I C K N A M E S: Titus boy, Love bug, Titus Almightus, Sweet boy, Tighter, Tighter Almighter, Buckysmith, Buckwheat Smith, Silly goosey bug

F U N N Y  M O M E N T S: I was bathing him last night and we were having a crazy game of peek-a-boo! He was laughing and screaming and basically ended up slap happy... it was hilarious!

Here are some photos from the last month!

Outtakes...

"Over it, Mom....!"

Titus Matthew | 6 months

A G E: SIX months! I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up!

He wouldn't leave the fox alone so this is the best I could do ;) And this is SUCH a Titus face. "I won't smile for you but I'll give a TINY smirk"

W E I G H T: 17 pounds 9 ounces (51st percentile)! He gained about a pound and a half since his 4 month visit!

L E N G T H: 26 inches (23rd percentile), he only grew half an inch since 4 months!

S I Z E: He is still a solid size 3 in diapers! He wears a good mix of 6-9M and 9-12M all dependent upon brand and fit. Mommy is loving the cool weather which means he gets to wear adorable sweaters and pants and jeans and all that jazz!

E Y E S & H A I R: Both still dark brown!

S L E E P I N G: His sleep is identical to what it was at his 5 month update! The only thing that is slightly different is that he has woken up in the middle of the night a few times over the past few weeks which I'm attributing to his teeth!

He sleeps 10-12 hours at night! We have a pretty good bedtime routine. Everything starts about 6:30/6:45pm. We give him a bath, lotion up, jammies, comb hair and read a book. Then he has his last feeding (a bottle of formula) around 7pm. He falls asleep on his own and sleeps until anywhere between 5am and 7am! I feed him and then he goes right back down for 2-3 more hours! We usually get up for the day around 8 or 9am!

As far as naps, he is still napping 2-3 times a day. Usually he naps at 10/11am, 1/2pm and 4/5pm. And each of those naps last an hour to an hour and a half.

E A T I N G: We are still going strong with breastfeeding! I have to say...any brand new mamas who are  breastfeeding or pregnant mamas considering it: It was very hard in the beginning for me. We didn't have any latching or supply issues, it's just draining. Any honest mama will tell you it hard, worth it, but hard. NOW that Titus is older, it has become so much easier. I am so glad I stuck it out. There are a lot of reasons why I love it but they are easier to remember now that it's not nearly as draining as it used to be!

With that being said, Titus nurses 4-5 times a day and gets a 6-8 oz. bottle of formula before bed! I feed him pureed baby food 2-3 times a day (he usually gets 8-12oz of baby food per day). I do fruit or fruit with cereal/oatmeal for breakfast, then veggies/meat for lunch and dinner! He eats anything and everything! He honestly loves it all! This month I'll be adding in lots of regular food now that he has teeth!

M I L E S T O N E S:
-Titus has TWO TEETH! His bottom two front teeth came in about 2 weeks ago so he was 5 1/2 months old when they finally broke through.
-Sat up in the shopping cart for the first time this month!
-Sat in a high chair in a restaurant for the first time, too!
-He sits up all by himself for long periods of time. Still topples over sometimes but is getting better and better!
-He loves to stand while holding my fingers.
-He makes very high pitched squealing/screaming sounds when he is happy!
-He has been so close to rolling from back to belly about A MILLION times. He totally CAN do it, he just chooses not to! Everytime I lay him on his belly, he flips to his back almost immediately. So, I'm working on getting more tummy time in!
-He is very wary of strangers nowadays - usually just stares at them with a blank face.
-Still loves mama and daddy to hold and play with him - and mama and daddy love it too!

O U T I N G S: Nothing new this month! He goes everywhere with mama during the day and still all the normal weekly outings - i.e. church on Sundays, grocery shopping, errands, walking the mall, etc.

F A V  T O Y S/A C T I V I T I E S: He still loves being outside but now that it's colder it's not as much of an option. He plays on the floor a lot, loves his exersaucer and jumper (obsessed with bouncing), loves sitting up with toys in front of him! His current favorite toy is his light up drum set! It's a sure way to entertain him.

W O R D S/S O U N D S: Lots and lots of sounds! Giggles, high pitched squeals, screams, coos, cries...he does it all! Expect speak of course ;)

N I C K N A M E S: Titus boy, Love bug, Titus Almightus, Sweet boy, Tighter, Tighter Almighty, Duke, Dukers, Buck, Bucky - don't ask, I have no idea haha

F U N N Y  M O M E N T S: He likes to play a screaming game with daddy! He screams and squeals, daddy covers his ears and says, "Titus! That's so loouuuuuddd" and over and over and over again ;)

Outtakes...

And here's a photo round-up from this month:
