Hello Sweet Cheer: My Hope is Built on Nothing Less

My Hope is Built on Nothing Less

Happy Tuesday, friends!

I love Tuesday mornings because I get to spend them with some high school girls who I love a whole lot!  This morning we started reading Hosea and I loved it.  The first time I read Hosea was about three and a half years ago and I still remember clearly the moment I fell in love with the Lord.  There are two verses that really struck me that day.
"Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her." Hosea 2:14
"And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And you shall know the Lord." Hosea 2:19-20
Something I'd like to point out is that it the Lord brought me to relationship with Him through scripture, His word, given to us.  It wasn't some mountain top experience or a tingling feeling I got in worship...but the very Word of God.  I believe He did that purposely, to reveal to me the great worth and importance of studying scripture to no end.

While this blog touches on many different topics, I wanted to post today about Jesus exclusively.  I know I have readers who aren't Christians and I know I have readers who are Christians, so I just wanted to make today about what I put my hope in.  We all put our hope in something, whether we recognize it or not.  I put my hope in what Jesus Christ did on the cross.  I put my hope in the fact that while I was still DEAD in my sin, He endured the wrath of God so I might be saved from the pits of hell.  (Colossians 2:13)

"My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus' blood and righteousness.  I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly trust in Jesus' name!"

Have a great week, friends!  Happy Tuesday.  What do you put your hope in?
