Hello Sweet Cheer: February 2014

Five on Friday!

Happy Friday, friends!  It's almost the weekend!

Linking up today!

1) Today is the LAST day of February.  That is crazy and honestly freaks me out a little bit.  It means I'm closer and closer to walking that stage!  78 days...!

2) Here's my latest jam!  I've been hung up on it since like November...check out the rap section in the middle of the song.  Love love love.

3) If you missed it, I recently posted about the latest update on life after college!  Still searching for a full-time job!

4) Tonight I'm going to a seminar at my church called "Engage Mormonism".  I'm super excited about it.  I've encountered Mormons all throughout my life and I can't wait to hear more about their religion and how to best engage them with the Gospel!

5) PARENTHOOD came back last night!  They had to take a few weeks off because of the Olympics and I'm so glad they're finally back!  It was a great episode to kick off the second half of the season!

BONUS: Be on the lookout for a new signature!  My sweet sister is designing it for me!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Insta Monday

Happy Monday, friends!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday!

1) I'm finally back to this weekly post...it's been a crazy semester but I'm vowing to commit to "Five on Friday" and now "Insta Monday"!  Yay!

2) I found the perfect red dress for graduation in May!  I love it and I think I'll pair it with a black skinny belt and my nude pumps!

3) I have seriously fallen down on chalkboard art the past few weeks.  Eeeeek!  Now that Valentine's Day is over though, I can change the chalkboard in our living room!  Hoping to get that done this weekend.  Here's my latest inspiration, of course always coming from Jessica over at Little Baby Garvin!

4) We have an electrical issue in our laundry room, which means our dryer doesn't work!  We've been hang drying clothes for over a week now...hoping the electrician can come look at it soon!

5) To be totally honest, it has been a pretty tough week at my house.  So my roommates and I are SO ready for the weekend!  I'm clinging to this verse this morning!

"Set your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.  For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory." Colossians 3:2-4

Hope you have a blessed weekend!!!

Rebranding + Big News

Hi friends!

Now that I'm less than three months away from graduating college, I'm starting to figure out what this blog will be called and what it will look like when I rebrand.  I'm so excited about it and I can't wait to actually buy the .com space!  I have dreams in my head of what this space will look like after a bit of makeover!  I love the way things look right now but if I'm going to change my name I think I'll change everything all at once!

In other news... I have offically decided to stay here in Lubbock when I graduate!  I know it sounds crazy since I've been talking about moving back to Dallas for almost two years now, but I've prayed about it, lost sleep over it and weighed out all my options.  I've come to the conclusion that it will be best for me to stay in Lubbock!  I'm super excited about being here, staying connected with my church and not having to say goodbye to all my dear friends.  With that being said, I am currently searching and applying for full-time jobs.  Ahhh!  That is super crazy.  If you have any Lubbock connections in schools or non-profits shoot me an e-mail!

Here are some pictures to recap the last few weeks!

 Ha ha ha...

 My roommates being goofballs.

Stopped in Dublin for some Dr. Pepper on our road trip!

These three mean the world to me.

I'll be back soon with a better update and some things Jesus has shown me lately.  Also, I'm vowing to get back in on "Five on Friday" and "Insta Monday".  See you tomorrow!

Have a happy Thursday, friends!

Life Update + Things I've Learned

Hi friends!

I am soooo behind here.  I apologize to the 2.5 people who check my blog daily!  I'll be honest, I have no good excuse for not writing in the last two weeks.  No worries, my ramblings have officially returned!

Here's a quick life update for ya!  I'm currently in my last semester of college which is....FREAKY (to say the least).  My roommates have been super into making smoothies lately!  Specifically smoothies that include kale!  My precious Momma recently sent (aka bought) me a pair of cowboy boots, unannounced.  Isn't she just a doll?!  I'm still not certain what I'm doing with my life...but who is, ya know?

Moving onto some Jesus...

I'm currently reading a Beth Moore book called "Praying God's Word".  It's been great so far.  She basically writes for a few pages and then gives about 15-20 pages of just scripture laden prayer.  It's been awesome to learn what it actually looks like to pray scripture and then be able to live it out in my own prayer life.  I love praying scripture because I am confident what I'm praying is what God promised me in His Word.  Here are some things I've highlighted lately.

"As we pray the Word of God acknowledging His limitless strength and transcendent dominion, Truth will begin to eclipse the lies."
"Why does God allow us to spend so much of life in the heat of the battle?  Because He Never meant for us to sip His Spirit like a proper cup of tea.  He meant for us to hold our sweating heads over the fountain and lap up His life with unquenchable thirst."
"You are defined by the love and acceptance of the Creator and Sustainer of the universe."
"Now if we are children, then we are heirs--heirs of Yours and coheirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings in order that we may also share in His glory.  Help me to really embrace the truth that any present sufferings I encounter are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in me." (Based in Romans 8:16-18)

Happy Friday, friends!
