I've officially been a college graduate for TWO WHOLE WEEKS.  I'm not sure if it's truly hit me yet that I'm finished forever!  The fact that it's summer right now makes it feel a little surreal.  Like, am I going back to class in August?  Haha!  Anyway, so I'm working full-time at a preschool right now and am about to transition into a nanny position, fingers crossed!  I've been doing things like paying bills, rent, and completing exit counseling for my student loans...I'm beginning to feel like a real adult!

Lately I've been trying to get my head straight with work and everything so here in the next few weeks I should be on a better blogging schedule!  I'm hoping to get back to my two posts a week and eventually transition back to three posts a week!

Have a great weekend, friends!

Introducing...Hello Sweet Cheer!

Happy Thursday!!
So I'm a few days early but I'm officially launching Hello Sweet Cheer today!  I have completely redesigned this space and I love the way it turned out!  The road to deciding on a name was long and grueling but when I finally made a decision I felt really good about it.
In my journey toward a new blog name I had a few parameters.  First, I wanted this name to be specific enough to describe me now but general enough to describe me over the next five, ten or fifteen years.  I wanted it to make sense for a young, unmarried blogger as well as for a newlywed and young momma.  I'm hoping this name is something that does a good job of describing me and my blog while still being able to grow with me as this blog follows each life stage I enter!  It was a pretty huge feat, which is why it took me months to figure out!  I also knew that I wanted it to be three words that went together but weren't necessarily an existing phrase.  So...here's why I chose each word!

H e l l o
I love writing in a way that is conversational!  My style is very relaxed and informal, making this place feel real!  I enjoy writing this way and it's my natural demeanor.  I wanted some that would sort of anchor the three words together, without being just a describing word.  "Hello" just seemed to fit!

S w e e t
This was the first word I was committed to!  I love to write about small joys, the sweet things in life!  At the end of the day I want to lay my bed on the pillow and remember that no matter what's going on, life is sweet and is such a gift.  Not to mention full life, in Jesus!  "Sweet" reminds me of the privelege it is to live and the incredible, undeserving gift I've been given through Christ's death, burial and resurrection!

C h e e r
In general, I'm a pretty joyful person!  I wanted to include something that would portray my personality, so I was deciding between cheer, joy and honey.  I also wanted to use something that would help the name sound fun!  I try to blog about fun things so "Cheer" it is!

I wanted my blog name to describe who I am, the way I write, and what I write about!  I feel like these three words do a great job of that and I'm excited to start this new journey as Hello Sweet Cheer!  Find me on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook under the name "Hello Sweet Cheer" or follow my social media buttons on the sidebar!  Thanks so much for reading!  I can't wait to see where my little piece of the interwebs takes me!

Oh and no big deal...I graduate college in TWO days!  My family arrives tonight, I'm having a fiesta tomorrow and my ceremony is Saturday afternoon!  I'm so excited and so ready to walk that stage!

Have a great day, friends!

Security in Jesus

Happy Monday, friends!

I'm officially moving into my new house this Wednesday!  I'm super excited because I like to have a change of scenery, so that makes this fun!  I'm also super sad because I'm moving out of a house with some of my best friends...I can't promise there won't be any tears upon my departure. :(  But I'm moving in with the sweetest friend and I'm excited about strengthening my friendship with her through living together! (I'll post pictures of my new room once I get settled, maybe on Friday?)

Here's a random goofy picture of me and my boyfriend...just for fun :)

What has Jesus been doing in my heart lately?

I've been learning that now more than EVER, my identity has to be secure in Jesus.  My tendency is to allow the behaviors of others toward me to define my value and worth.  My tendency also is to allow my job or what I spend most of my time doing to define my value and worth.  During this transition in life and all that's new to me, it's proven to be even more clear that my identity needs to be secure in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.  It's so easy for me to allow my emotions to take control which results in feeling like no one likes me and I mean nothing to anyone in my life.  These are obviously lies that I, unfortunately, choose to believe at times!  So, Jesus has been reminding me that I have to be preaching the Gospel to myself every day!

With all of that being said, isn't it the most beautiful thing?  That the God of the universe murdered His Son so that I might live and have the ability to know Him?!  And even more beautiful is the fact that through this God recieved and continues to recieve glory!  I'm excited just typing about this...my God is perfect and loving and just and full of grace and mercy!  Here's one of my favorite songs right now!

I'll be back soon with an update on my move and maybe another preview of my rebrand?!  I'm not sure but I'm excited about getting things in order and going live on May 19th!  Also, if you have any suggestions for a new blog name feel free to share them in the comments below!  I'm still brainstorming :)  Have a great week, friends!

Five on Friday + The Home Stretch!

Happy Friday, friends!  Linking up with April, Christina, Darci and Natasha!

O N E.  I'm counting down the days until my baby sister moves here to the LBK!  I can't wait for her to be here and watch her go through college.  What a blessing that I get the chance to be a part of her life during this time!  For the record, it's 106 days away!

I just love this girl.

T W O.  Here in the next few days I'll be moving out of my current house and into a new one!  It's only a few miles from my current place, so the move should go pretty smoothly!

I have to say goodbye to this house and to living with these sweet, sweet gals.

T H R E E.  I'm probably way too excited about this, but I order scrubs for work this week!  Who wouldn't want to wear pajamas to work for 40 hours a week!?  I can't wait for them to come in!

F O U R.  I'm reading through the book of Psalms right now!  I've been loving the encouragement.  Here is a verse I've clung to over the past few weeks: "My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord because he has dealt bountifully with me." Psalm 13:5-6

F I V E.  This time next week I will be 100% finished with all things schoolwork related.......in honor of that, let's take a quick walk down memory lane!

Red Raider Orientation!

My arrival back on campus after Foundation Camp.

My sweet roomie, Megan, in Hulen Hall!

I can't wait to finally say I'm finished with college!  It's so soon...!  Have a great weekend, friendlies!
