Hello Sweet Cheer: April 2015

Patience, Productivity + Provision

Happy Wednesday, friends!

The Holguins have been busy packing, preparing to move, moving, unpacking and now I have a few moments to breathe!  All the boxes have been emptied and now we can enjoy the relaxation of our cozy apartment being all put together!  Porter is adjusting well, I've been at home the last two days since I haven't quite secured a job yet, so it's been nice to spend time with him.  He is so funny, still chasing shadows and getting hyper at random times.  He is truly our little baby!

Being home the last two days has meant getting so much done.  I've gotten a lot of our accounts updated, made phone calls that needed to be made, I had an interview Monday, I have another one today, and I've spent a lot of time organizing things around here!  I've enjoyed the down time, it's been nice to ease into our new life in this city!  But hopefully I'll be employed soon because I know I'll get bored eventually.  I am doing my best to stay patient and enjoy the time I have to relax.  I know God will provide something for me!

This little living room might be my favorite spot in our place.  It's cozy and inviting and I just love it!

We still have to hang a really heavy mirror and put curtains up but otherwise it's done!

The Lord has been so faithful to us through this move.  We knew this is where He was calling us and we had an enormous amount of peace about the decision.  There were many unknowns - and He took care of them one. by. one.  He is so good.  We are blessed and cannot believe we are here and things went pretty smoothly.  Nothing is perfect but we have no complaints!

With my time off I have been brainstorming about what the future looks like for me job wise.  I am so excited about what my little mind is coming up with.  It will be so much fun to do some new things in the next few years once we start a family.  I can't wait to use my loves and hobbies to the glory of God!

The church we are going to (and will become members of soon) is wonderful.  We love it and we have almost instant community there.  We are thrilled about the opportunity to continue to build relationships there.  We know the Lord has great things in store at Redemption Church.

And just because, here are some pictures from the last few weeks of our lives >>>

Porter is totally our world ;) How can you not love the big eared goof?!

It's all happening so fast...!

Well hello bloggie friends!

There is so much to update on since I have been so absent from my blog lately.  Things have been steady around here and I haven't quite gotten back on a good writing schedule since Ryan and I have been married.

Today marks three months since our rehearsal dinner.  It's crazy to think that's it's been a whole three months!  At the same time, it's hard to remember what things were like before we made this life changing covenant.  I am so in love with my husband and I couldn't more grateful to God for answering my prayers.  He is a leader, oh so charming, gentle when I need it, and just so so loving.  I am BEYOND blessed by him.

He's the hottest sauce I've ever seen ;)

(Side note: Please don't think I'm saying marriage is easy.  It's definitely not.  There are many challenges but none that I wouldn't want to endure for the sake of spiritual and emotional intimacy with my babe)

So the big news in our life is that we are moving!  In just two weeks we will relocate to the place we feel like the Lord is calling us to.  The place where we feel like the Lord is asking us to put down roots, create community, share the gospel and make disciples!  We are so so thrilled to make this transition to the place where our babies will be born, grow up and come home to when their parents are old and need
'y.  We are thrilled to meet the friends and families who will be influential in the lives of our kiddos.  And the coolest part about it all is while we are taking a risk making this move, the Lord has been providing since the first day we started talking about it.  He has been guiding us and making a way for us through this entire process.  We will know more after this weekend - we're making a trip to solidify jobs and housing.

The devastating part about this move is that we can't take our baby girl, Alley, with us.  We have to find her a new home and I am definitely struggling with it.  Ryan is my back bone when it comes to this.  She is just so precious and sweet and I will miss her so so much.  She is a puppy and she needs a yard to play in, a family who can give her better attention than we can and I think she would love being in a family with kiddos.  She is my baby - definitely a momma's girl and I am tearing up just typing this.

We had a wonderful Easter weekend!  We made a day trip on Saturday to look for a place to live and then Sunday we worshipped with our Redeemer family - whom we will miss so much.  We will be attending a plant of our church when we move and eventually be a part of a new plant in this new city.  We got to enjoy lunch at Cracker Barrel with friends and then I whipped up my momma's Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas for dinner with Kameron and Sara!

Speaking of those two... they're engaged!  Ryan and I got to help set everything up for the proposal and we had so much fun.  Kameron was a big part of Ryan proposing to me so it was so great to get to be a part of the day he asked his love to be his wife!  We are so excited for them.

How fun is this?  Friends are just the greatest.

That's all I've got this morning... I've been up since 4:30am and it's almost 6:00am now so it's time to get ready for work.  Let's pray I make it through this day!
