Hello Sweet Cheer: December 2015

16 week bumpdate

How far along: 16 weeks

Size of babe: Avocado

Gender: IT'S A BOY!! We can't wait to meet our son, Titus Matthew!

Husband: I am a blessed wife and mama. My husband is incredibly helpful. He helps around the house so much and is always willing to bring me water in bed, make me a snack, clean or tidy up when I just don't have the energy and so much more! He works so hard with his full-time job, full-time school, serving at church and being the greatest husband and future daddy! I fall more in love with him each day. Also, he is thrilled to have a son!

Maternity Clothes: Loving my new maternity leggings! My normal leggings were getting irritating because the elastic band kept flipping down or getting folded in half because of where it sat on my growing bump. Now I have the most amazing leggings with a full belly band and I LOVE them.

Loving: Having more energy! I have finally gotten to the point where I feel MOSTLY back to my normal self as far as getting up and getting things done. I am really enjoying that.

Loathing: Still hating strong smells and highly/overly seasoned foods. Having more melt downs lately, too.

Belly Button: In

Movement: I have definitely felt our boy moving. It doesn't happen often and I don't usually realize what it was until after it happens but I am almost positive I've felt him a few times!

Symptoms: Mostly just struggling with headaches. Always have to pee. Always!

Best Part of the Week: Finding out we are having a SON!

Worst Part of the Week: Seeing a tiny stretch mark on my belly :(

Missing Most: Nothing this week that I can think of.

Can't wait for: To feel him KICK and really know that it's him moving!

Here are some ultrasound pictures at 15 weeks!

At the beginning of our appointment he had his legs crossed! Little stinker.

Eventually he showed us!

Here are a few gifts we have already received for him...we are so blessed!

I got this  adorable blanket from a student!

Baseball and sports onesies and slippers from Uncle Kam and Aunt Sara!

Assorted onesies and baseball sleeper from the Grays!

And of course we got him these little shoesies to announce the gender!

And here I am for my 15 week picture...

Which was actually taken at 15w6d because I kept forgetting! haha #pregnancybrain

Have a wonderful Christmas celebrating the birth of our Savior, who came to die. What a glorious truth!

My Thoughts Lately

Hellllo and happy Monday, friends!

I am off work for the next two weeks (perks of a teacher's schedule) so I'm enjoying the relaxation and time away from teenagers!

Over the last month, I've been reflecting a lot on Christmas and what it truly means. Now that we have a baby on the way, we've had so many more conversations about holidays, our dreams for our family, traditions we like and don't like, things we want to teach our kids, etc. It has been really fun to dream and chat about what the future may hold for our family.

Something that has had me in pure childlike awe lately is the reality of why we celebrate Christmas.

Jesus came to this wretched earth as an infant, for the sole purpose of dying. He came here to die so that I might have life! What an incredible truth that is. We focus so much on Jesus' birth - which obviously is what we remember during the Christmas season...but more important isn't just that he came but WHY he came. He came to live a sinless life, only to be crucified by the very people he came to save. I cannot word that enough different ways to make it sound as incredible and beautiful as it truly is. No words can express how gracious and sacrificial my Savior is!

I didn't get Christmas cards ordered on time this year, I haven't baked Christmas cookies, I just now finished my shopping and my house is only slightly decorated for the season. But what I've been learning through all of my holiday shortcomings is that the less I indulge in the typical traditions I love so dearly - the more I am able to focus on why we even celebrate! I have really enjoyed how the Lord has pressed these truths on my heart over the last few weeks.

Merry Christmas, friends! I'll be back tomorrow with a bumpdate!

14 week bumpdate

Happppppy Tuesday! I can't believe I'm FOURTEEN WEEKS today! This babe is growing for sure. We are so in love with our sweet June Bug already!

How far along: 14 weeks

Size of babe: Lemon

Gender: Finding out in 1 week! We are so excited. Praying that baby cooperates for the camera! ;)

Husband: Ryan is such a great support. He is quick to make sure I'm feeling okay, reminds me to drink water and eat healthy, prays for me daily, and so much more. He has been pretty excited about seeing how much my belly has grown in the past two weeks. We daydream all the time about what it will be like when baby gets here and how we want to raise our family - with Jesus at the center. I love him so much and I feel so blessed to get to walk through life with him!

Maternity Clothes: Still in the stretchy jeans, I can FIT in my other pants, they're just super uncomfortable across the button. I should probably invest in a belly band? Any mommas have any suggestions? I'm also wearing a LOT of dresses. They are just much more comfortable in this in between stage.

Stretch Marks: No

Loving: Still obsessed with oatmeal. I've been craving toast the past few mornings too. Of course, we've been out of bread this week haha!

Loathing: I really can't stand strong smells. They give me headaches, which I already have a ton of, and make me feel all queasy.

Belly Button: In

Movement: I THINK I felt baby move! I really don't know since this is my first pregnancy but last week I was laying in bed really still and I felt some thuds in there. It was crazy and I'm still not sure if it was baby or just weird stomach rumblings but it definitely felt different than anything I've felt before!

Symptoms: Headaches. Almost every day. Exhaustion. Still fighting to get some energy. (although i did have a burst of energy one day last week)

Best Part of the Week: Seeing pictures of my sweet nephew almost every day! I cannot wait to meet him at Christmas.

Worst Part of the Week: This week has been pretty great! Other than the constant headaches, no major complaints here!

Missing Most: SUSHI. Ryan and I were at MarketStreet on Sunday and they had the sushi out to try and I wanted some SO BAD. Oh well, baby is totally worth it :)

Can't wait for: December 15th! The day we found out boy or girl!!!

I actually took this picture last week at exactly 13 weeks! It was the first day my belly truly looked like a baby bump instead a chubby belly! ;)

We are so excited to find out the gender next week and share with all our family and friends! We'll probably post on Instagram and Facebook before I write up a post so make sure you are following me to hear the big news!
