Hello Sweet Cheer: March 2016

30 week bumpdate

How far along: 30 weeks

Size of babe: Cabbage! Around 16.5 inches and about 3 pounds!

Gender: IT'S A BOY!! We can't wait to meet our son, Titus Matthew!

Husband: My sweet Ryan has had to do a bit more back rubbing lately! He has been so sweet to massage my back and hips right in the places where they are getting stiff. I don't think he knows how helpful it really is!

Maternity Clothes: Exclusively wearing dresses and leggings!

Loving: Kicks and rolls! Baby boy moves so much and I could stare at my belly watching him for hours!

Loathing: Just small aches and pains. I am starting to notice that I'm going to get pretty uncomfortable in the next few weeks. Getting my body moving during the day through running errands, doing housework and light workouts definitely helps that!

Belly Button: In but very very flat...still!

Movement: All day long!

Symptoms: Washing dishes has become quite a chore due to how far away from the sink I stand because of this big belly! So I've just had some back aches lately because of that and getting comfortable to sleep at night.

Best Part of the Week: My midwife appointment yesterday! Titus is head down and will hopefully stay that way until labor day! His heart rate was around 157bpm so he is doing great!

Worst Part of the Week: This weekend Ryan painted the nursery...and I couldn't help! That was pretty tough, sitting around while my husband worked super hard wasn't very fun. But I am so grateful to him for it! Check out this post for some progress pictures!

Missing Most: Range of motion? I don't know, the belly is just becoming more and more obvious each day!

Can't wait for: My first baby shower this weekend!!!!!

Double Weekend Update!

Alright we'll start with TWO weekends ago!

That weekend was Ryan's birthday! It was such a sweet time celebrating him with friends and family. We started on Friday evening with a pizza, one gift and couch snuggles.

Saturday was his actual birthday! So my father-in-law brought over donuts for breakfast, Ryan opened his big gift from me and we just enjoyed the morning.

After that he got started with his new lawn mower! It was a birthday gift from his dad so they got it all put together and he mowed the lawn. On his birthday, I know.

Around noon is when our friends and family started to arrive for a brisket lunch!

It was so much fun to have everyone all together and break out Ryan's new camera! The rest of the day was pretty relaxing! Ryan hung out with his friend Nate, I took a quick nap and then we headed over to a friend's house for dinner! It was such a fun weekend celebrating Ryan's life. I am so blessed by him!

Onto this past Easter weekend...

During the day Friday, I got everything all situated and ready for Ryan to paint the nursery! I went to Lowe's for paint, ran to our friend's house to borrow a few items and stopped at Big Lots for paint trays and sponges. Once Ryan got off work we had some yummy tacos for dinner and just spent the evening together. It was nice to take that time to just hang out and be together without watching a movie or show or being out doing something. I cherish those times with my husband so so much! Ryan also broke out the camera and has really been enjoying taking photos and videos!

Saturday morning we took ourselves on a T&T date - which if you aren't from here means nothing to you! T&T is just about the best donut place I've ever been to. It's unique to this area but it is so so good. And they have so many options on Saturday mornings!

After donuts Ryan started the painting! He did a coat in the nursery, then a coat on our dresser, another coat in the nursery and another coat on the dresser. We still have trimming to do in Titus' room, but our dresser is done, complete with new knobs!! We love it so much.

We took a lunch break before Ryan finished up the work for the day.

Then we got all showered and pretty and ready for "date night". Which in all seriousness just means doing anything and calling it date night :) We took Porter to the dog park, took a lot of cute pictures of him, and then ran a few quick errands. Then headed home for dinner and relaxation!

And Sunday was EASTER! We went to church, celebrated the resurrection of our Savior and then had lunch with friends afterwards. It was such a sweet morning. Ryan did some spoken word during worship and we just got to remember and thank Jesus for his sacrifice and for rising again!

I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend just like we did!!! Ugh, sorry for being so long winded today! If you've made it this far - I applaud you! Go check out my social media accounts to keep up with me as life happens!!

The Best Friday

Happy Friday, friends!! The weekend is upon us once again and I really can't believe how quickly this week flew by. I'm dropping in with some Friday Favorites today! And I'll be back Monday with a double weekend update. We've had so much going on and there's so much to tell!

Today is Good Friday. It's a Friday that is set apart from all other Fridays - because this is the day we remember the death Jesus endured on the cross. I don't know how to put into words how heartbreaking, and simultaneously joyful today is. Christ took on death, he was beaten, ridiculed and killed. That makes my heart ache. But the joy is that today HAD to happen, for Sunday to be a celebration. Christ had to take on the fullness of sin and death so that he could rise on Easter morning and DEFEAT death - so that all who believe in him could be forgiven. I could go on, but check out this really cool explanation of an amazing song talking about what this weekend means.

Pink Blush Maternity! This site has such cute maternity clothes and they had a huge dress sale yesterday! I had a gift card so I used that coupled with the 25% off sale they were having and got an awesome deal on two really cute maxi dresses. I'm excited to get them because I'm thinking I might wear them for my baby showers!

THIS glider. I doubt we'll purchase this because we are pretty sure we decided we're going to re-cover the recliner we already have because it's literally. so. comfortable. But if I had endless amounts of money this would be my pick!  It's just so elegant and neutral and that is exactly what I'm going for!

That's going to be all for today, but be sure to stop back by next week for a Monday post and my THIRTY week update on Tuesday....so crazy! Happy Easter and have a great weekend!

Good morning and Happy Thursday! I hear today is St. Patrick's Day? I've never been into specifically celebrating a holiday like today, but I do generally try to wear green to avoid people pinching me! ;) These days this is what I would go for on a day like today!

I basically LIVE in yoga pants! Not to mention, Old Navy is having 17% off all purchases today only! They have been running tons of different promotions and I have a few things in my shopping cart so we'll see when I finally place the order! ;)

Onto what I really want to talk about. Over the last two days I have had an urge inside me to write. I have had an urge to write something that matters. I haven't known what that was but in my time with Jesus today, He was so incredibly crystal clear. The Lord used my desire and urge to write to perk up my ears and truly listen to what He wanted me to hear from Him. I love that He is so intentional to use anything and everything to teach me.

This morning I finished up the book of Luke. In our community group we have been reading through the Gospels and what I read today spoke volumes to me. There are two places in the book of Luke that I want to highlight.
Luke 22:42 "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
Luke 23:46 "Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last."
As I read these two verses I felt an overwhelming sense of awe. I saw the immense TRUST and SURRENDER Jesus had for the Father. In Luke 22:42, he trusts the Father. He asks God to change what is about to happen, to take it away from him, but ultimately says, "YOUR will be done, Father". I am learning about how to fully trust God in everything. I need to trust Him fully with our finances, with becoming a mother, with the birth of our son and how that will play out, with where He will take us in the future and with where He has us right now. I feel like I've been learning to trust Him since the day I began walking with Him. Right now though, the Lord has been challenging my trust and drawing me into a deeper trust of Him and His plan.

Secondly, in Luke 23:46 Jesus commits his spirit to God. He is hanging on the cross and he cries out to the Lord, and surrenders. He says, Lord take me. He literally allows himself to die - and here's the crazy part - so that I might have life. He had the greatest surrender to the Father in such an incredibly dark moment in his time on earth. He has the people who are mocking him standing right there, heckling him, accusing him, stripping him of dignity and in that very moment, He surrenders fully to the God of the Universe. I can hardly fathom the kind of trust that takes.

I think this morning the Lord gave me the word 'surrender' through these parts of scripture to draw me into His presence and remind me that I must let go of what I have my grip on and allow Him to truly be the LORD over my life.

Sorry for being a little long winded today - happy Thursday and have a great weekend!
